Maw, S.H. (mapmaker).
[Quebec]. [Librairie Garneau]. 1932.
Color poster, pictorial bird's eye view style map, decorative border, image 25 x 33 1/4 inches on sheet 27 x 35 1/2 inches on flat wooden dowels, fold lines as issued. Light edgewear, general light toning, small creases at regular intervals to outer left margin, pinholes to upper margin corners (over wooden dowel); overall good to very good condition and ready to hang. A striking lithographic map poster in blue, yellow, green and red (similar to many of the popular pictorial maps of this era), the border on this map is suggestive of a mosaic giving a historical feeling and looking somewhat like a mural. Small banners give historical information on buildings and places. The map was issued folded and was presumably put on dowels by someone who found pinning it by its upper corners an unsatisfactory way to display it. Item #56896
