Carnival Week in New Orleans. 8 VINTAGE MARDI GRAS PHOTOS.

Circa 1910s.
EIGHT black and white photographs on glossy paper, 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches. Very good condition. These are quality photographs, well shot and developed. Each has a penciled inscription on the back: "Carnival Week in New Orleans". Six have additional information, including the name and address of the woman who presumably took the photos. One inscription identifies Mssrs. George and Henry Soule, while others identify the mayor and advance guard, a masker, a band of troubadours, and two floats, including "one of the most effective floats". A fascinating glimpse of the carnival of a hundred years past, when the city still had dirt roads and the floats were carried by horses. Item #56802

Price: $185.00
