Light soiling to margins, general edgewear, 2 1/4 inch repaired tear to top edge, creasing to upper third of sheet with slightly abraded diagonal crease at upper left most visible; chromolithograph rich and bright despite faults; sold as is. Image shows slight glare from photography lights. After an original painting by Abraham Solomon (1823-1862). This scene got different interpretations from our catalogers - one described it as "The old, old tale: a gentleman tries to seduce a young lady as the two make their way back from church"; the other as "courting" Item #56647
