Collection of ELEVEN full color engravings from Les Modes Parisiennes and SIX black and white engravings from Godey's Ladys Book, 9 1/4 x 6 and 10 x 6 1/4 inches respectively, disbound from magazines. Light toning, light scattered foxing to some sheets, binding holes and narrow creasing along right or left edge of each print, soft diagonal crease and edge staining to one Parisiennes print, brown marks to second Parisiennes print (see photo), 1 x 3/8 inch paper loss to lower left corner of one Godey print (outside image area), second Godey print tightly cropped and missing half of title and two bonnet tips; overall good to very good condition. Beautiful and delicately engraved images of women wearing the latest fashions, featuring spreading crinoline dresses, in various settings; three of the Godey prints are particularly elaborate with decorative borders. The prints from Godey's Ladys Book date from 1851, while the prints from Les Modes Parisiennes were published 1856. Of great interest to costume designers, historians, and clothing enthusiasts.
