FIVE chromolithographic prints on medium weight cream paper, 15 x 10 3/4 inches (image area varies). Slight crease to upper right corner of three sheets, well outside image area; v-shaped indentation to left of image area of king eider print; overall very good clean condition. The name of each bird is provided in Latin and Swedish, with a symbol indicating whether the specimen is male or female. The English common names are as follows: king eider, northern goshawk, common shelduck, northern shoveler, and peregrine falcon. These lithographs were reprinted in the early 20th century to celebrate the centennial of the first publication of the prints by the Finnish-born von Wright brothers, who produced the illustrative work Svenska Foglar (Swedish Birds) between 1828 and 1838. One print bears the name of M. v. Wright (Magnus), one bears the name of W. v. Wright (Wilhelm), and three are marked "B.H. - g del" Item #56609
