Hardbound children's book, 18 full-page chromolithographic illustrations (10 missing), unpaginated, 10 1/2 x 9 inches, debossed decorative green cloth covers with gilt. Covers in poor condition: paper residue to front cover where color plate was tipped on (not present), light soiling to covers, rubbing to cover extremities, fraying to head and tail of spine, text block attached to covers by a few threads, several pages fully detached. Interior: occasional foxing and multiple fore edge tears to text sheets, fore edge tears to seven color plates ( two 1 1/2 inches and five up to 3/4 inches), light soiling and edgewear to margins; good condition overall: sold as is: a collection of color plates. The book pairs rhymes and stories with illustrations and is divided into five sections: Little Folks at Home, featuring verses about children playing together; Our Horses, featuring horse stories and illustrations; Funny Animals, which has verses about anthropomorphized animals below each illustration, and Happy Days, which is missing its plates.
