THREE lithographic prints with handcolor, 14 x 10 inches. Light toning, a few light marks, alternative name for White-Tailed Eagle provided in faint pencil at right of title; overall very good condition. These are the larger folio size; later editions were quarto. A striking group of bird lithographs from an edition of Henry Leonard Meyer's "Illustrations of British Birds."
Two editions of this large sheet edition were published (1835-41 and 1837-44); it has been suggested that those images showing the bird's egg are from the later edition. Here the Crested Lapwing is shown with an egg; the Black Stork and White-Tailed Eagle do not include an egg. Item #56568
