Color pictorial / pictographic map, 30 x 39 1/4 inches. Soft creasing from rolling, toning to right edge of verso, several archivally repaired tears up to 1 1/4 inches at far left of map, chip to lower right corner just outside neatline; overall good clean condition. Includes small inset bird's eye view pictorial map at lower right: "Air View of New York City". Thomas E. Dewey is named as governor in the cartouche at top left - he was governor from 1942 to 1955. The state population is quoted at the 1945 figure of 13,946,957. There is extensive text promoting the state in a banner at the top right and a three panel history by Albert Corey at the lower left. Pictographs and text highlight the resources and history of the state such as oil refineries, Mark Twain's study, Rochester's manufacture of photographic equipment and the Thousand Islands Bridge.
