May 1907 issue of the magazine in color pictorial wrappers as issued, illustrated in black and white and color, 116 pages + many pages of ads, 10 x 7 inches. Covers fully detached and worn, with dampstaining, multiple short edge tears, and 2 3/4 inches paper loss to tail of spine. Text block staples have rusted but binding remains tight, faint water stain to fore edge margin of many sheets; interior in good condition overall. Color illustrations clear and bright. Cover image by Harrison Fisher of a woman in a dramatic hat. Includes the first installment of memoir "My Life in the Underworld" by Jack London - the editor explains that London's planned travelogue had to be cancelled after his around-the-world trip in a forty-five-foot boat was indefinitely postponed. Also included are: "Mark Twain, Mrs. Eddy, and Christian Science", photo essay "Our Overdressed Drama" (featuring Ethel Barrymore and other actors), and many more articles and short stories. Contains full-page color lithograph advertisement for Victor gramophones, "His Master's Voice" plus back cover ad for the Eastman Kodak Tank ("It's all by daylight). Item #56090
