New York. H. H. Lloyd & Co., 1870.
Hand-colored map, 21 x 25 1/2 inches on sheet 17 x 13 3/4 inches, 2 folds as issued. Multiple splits and tears: splits to three fold ends up to 6 1/2 inches; 2 1/4 inch split at fold intersection; longest tear 2 1/2 inches at lower left corner. Despite these issues, image is overall clean and bright and would display well. Great detail with railroads and stations marked, towns and counties. The left and right margins provide the populations of Ohio counties, American states and territories, American cities, and the country as a whole (about 38.6 million). At the time, Ohio had 2.67 million people, while California had about 560,000. Item #55944
