Washington State. Washington Motor Coach System / Greyhound Lines. Circa 1939.
Brochure 9 x 4 inches opening to a 16 1/2 x 19 1/2 inch sheet featuring the 8 1/4 x 11 1/2 inch color "Washington Motor Coach Map" of Washington. Other features of the page include scenic views with accompanying text, presumably letters of a traveler writing home with descriptions of the wonders to be encountered in travel by bus through the state. Text also encourages bus travel to the New York World's Fair and the Golden Gate Exposition "only $69.95 for a Grand Circle Tour" with a different cross-country route going and coming. Other travel opportunities include Western Canada. Someone has penciled a expenses list on the back of the brochure (".05 check shoes - .45 dance - .05 ice cream"); overall good clean condition; an engaging ephemeral travel item. The three panel comic map features activities in the state; there is what looks to be a small g in the lower right corner, but the map maker is otherwise not identified. Item #55445
