Seattle. Washington State Department of Commerce & Economic Development. 1962.
Two brochures devoted to the Seattle World's Fair (April 21 to October 21, 1962). The smaller of the two, 9 x 4 1/2 inches, opens to a sheet 9 x 10 3/4 inches depicting a colorful bird's-eye view of the Fair Grounds, with attention centered on the iconic Space Needle, with its revolving restaurant. The second brochure, also 9 x 4 1/2 inches, opens to a sheet 18 x 20 1/2 inches featuring a map of Washington state. Smaller panels feature a bird's-eye view of the fairgrounds with a dominant Space Needle, various pavilions, and the mile-long Monorail System. For mailing purposes, folded brochure was held in place with a staple (no longer present) on the opening fold. Larger item has pinhole separations to fold intersections and two 1 inch splits to fold ends; both are overall in good clean condition. Engaging souvenirs for World's Fair collectors. Item #55422
