Honolulu, Hawaii. Inter-Island Airways, Ltd., 1937.
Brochure 9 x 4 inches unfolding to a colorful map of seven Hawaiian Islands with Kauai at the top and Hawaii at the bottom. An 11 x 1/4 inch "Air Log" is positioned along the left side of the map with various scheduled routes and flight times posted. On verso of map is a listing of 10 daily air-tours from Rogers Airport in Honolulu to Maui or Kauai. Photographs picture scenery as seen from the air; also a photo of a twin-engine Sikorski airplane with passengers boarding via a steep wheeled staircase. There are three entries in WorldCat for Inter-Island Airways brochures, but none for the date of this publication, 1937. Paper loss to rear cover of the brochure, evidently occurring when the item was removed from a scrap book or journal. Overall exceptional clean condition. A scarce ephemeral aviation item. Text on verso, illustrated with photos of scenery as viewed from the air, is headlined: "Beneath Inter-Island Sikorsky Planes Flash A Thousand Scenes." Item #55382
