Color pictorial map, 27 x 20 1/2 inches on sheet 31 x 24 inches, archivally mounted on linen. Short margin tear at right edge now scarcely visible, very good condition. A pictorial literary map showing the venues of prominent novels. There is an inset at lower left showing significant literary associations in central London: eg. "Milton lived here," "De Foe buried here." "Route of Mr. Pickwick" etc. The British coat-of-arms is at upper left with a rose and thistle border design. An uncommon map; WorldCat lists six libraries within the United States. This map was designed in the early stages of the career of artist Dolli Tingle, who also designed books, and stamps for the U.S. Postal Service. Item #55334
