Color pictographic / pictorial map, folding to pamphlet 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches, black and white photo illustrations and text on verso. Very good condition. A brightly-colored map by Frank Antoncich encompassing the area around Cass Lake and Lake Winnibigoshish with a part of Leech Lake at the lower edge; humorous pictographs and historical information highlight the history of the region and vacation attractions (text block above the cartouche notes: "Acknowledgement for historical data: Minnesota Historical Society, St. Paul; Grant Utley of Cass Lake Times; A.G. Swindlhurst of Cass Lake.") Under the heading "Write these resorts for folders and reservations" are listed 84 places with corresponding numbers on the map (a considerable increase from the 42 on what appears to be a first printing of the map). Paved Highways, Good Motor Roads, Poor Motor Roads and Lookout Stations are marked. Item #55286
