Six panel two color map, sheet 24 x 8 3/4 inches. This is apparently a section of a larger pamphlet (as shown by the incomplete photo section on the verso; however the map is complete with white border at all edges. Three of the folds have been taped on the verso and there are a few chips at the edges and one tiny bit of loss in the right-hand fold. The map would make a great display piece. Despite its condition, this is a fascinating and decorative map of the Southern California coastline from San Diego to San Francisco and further north, showing the Constructed, Under Construction and Proposed Locations of the Roosevelt Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The Hearst estate stands at the centre of the route, with roads and highlights of the state shown as far as Victory Highway and Death Valley. Item #55278
