Profusely illustrated with black and white full and partial-page illustrations. Text is in six sections of "Marvels": that of Nature, that of Race (the "Ancients"), that of Enterprise, Mining, Stock-raising, and Agriculture. Sturdily bound; gilded image of "Ancient Cliff-Dwellers" on front cover; overall excellent clean condition. Note on verso of title page states: "Sold Only by Subscription." A handsome volume; text concludes with a last-page rhetorical flourish: "the New West shall bring its multiform elements into complete accord for the Union, and the Christian Religion shall control the whole for Humanity and God."
