"GRAND NEW CENSUS EDITION" Atlas, 14 3/4 x 11 1/2 inches, 309 pages. Cloth covered boards, with cover very worn (corners bumped; covering to spine in tatters); hinges weak. Apart from the pencil notation on some maps, providing population figures, the contents overall are in very good clean condition and the volume is tight. The Introductory pages of the Atlas provide color maps of "The Hemispheres," "Chart of the World," "The Polar Regions," "North America," etc. plus diagrams (World Population Diagram, Miles of Railroads of the World, Wealth of Nations, etc.) followed by map of Alaska, five maps of Canada and a double-page map of the U.S. Individual color state maps follow, single or double page, from pp. 34 to 88 followed by single or double-page city maps of major American and Canadian cities, pages 100 through 137, also in color. (Readily erased pencil notations on a number of maps provide population statistics.) Full or double-page maps of World Cities, Major Countries as well as Continents comprise an additional 45 pp (including two pages providing color maps, 9 per page, of "Cities of the Old Word,") while a 34 page History of the United States is illustrated with numerous full-page maps and charts detailing information of an historical nature.
