The stations for it in the 'Botanist's Guide' are near the Land's-end, between Penzance and St. Ives; ...various parts of Devonshire and Dorsetshire; and on Horsham-common, Sussex, abundantly...This was included by Linnaeus in the genus Gentiana, from which it is abundantly distinct...It comes nearer, perhaps, to Chironia than to Gentiana..." A finely engraved and handcolored print of this delicate plant with yellow flowers, embellished with botanical details.
