Washington D.C. Automobile Club of New York / AAA. 1946.
Brochure 9 x 4 inches with five color maps pertaining to Long Island. The first is a pictorial map approximately 5 1/2 x 16 inches depicting the whole of Long Island, with focus chiefly on the many recreational activities available to the public. The other five maps, all in color and on similarly sized sheets, depict four counties: Nassau, Suffolk (two maps, East and West Suffolk), Kings (Borough of Brooklyn), and Queens (Borough of Queens). These maps show main roads, connecting roads, parks, golf and country clubs, and the adjacent bodies of water--the Atlantic Ocean or Long Island Sound. The maps are copyright 1946. The brochure is in very good clean condition save for an abraded area visible in the upper left corner of the front cover. This abrasion becomes more pronounced progressing toward the rear of the brochure, with the last maps suffering modest paper loss in the top border, not compromising the map itself. The front cover of the brochure has a stamped imprint reading "Lehigh Valley Motor Club." Item #55145
