Ciofalo, John and Cliff Helstrom (mapmakers).
ADSEC. [ 1945].
Color pictorial / pictographic map, 20 x 27 3/4 inches on sheet size 21 1/4 x 29 inches, professionally mounted on linen. This map was published as the centrefold of a pamphlet (with informational text on the verso); now mounted on linen. There is infill (1/2 x 1/2 inch) to the left upper edge, inpainting to the upper vertical folds, some tiny staple holes along the left edge, all now minimised by archival restoration. The map displays handsomely. A striking map produced by the United States Army Advance Section, a U.S. Army logistical agency established to provide support for troops invading the Continent after the invasion of Normandy on D Day. The map graphically shows the progression of the invasion with dates as the soldiers of ADSEC moved from London at upper left to Bonn at upper right, the sky full of bombers heading to Germany.
