Monthly magazine, 10 x 7 inches, devoted to publishing new plays. Issue number 1 was published in November 1971; the last issue, number 10, was published in October 1972. There are two copies of number 6, while number 8 is missing. Playwrights featured in the ten issues before cessation include: John Arden/Margaretta D'Arcy, Eric Bentley, Ed Bullins, Lonnie Carter, Peter Handke, Adrienne Kennedy, Jakov Lind, Charles Ludlam, Robert Montgomery, Rochelle Owens, David Rabe, Sam Shepard, Ronald Tavel, Megan Terry, Susan Yankowitz, Bread & Puppet Theater, The Living Theatre. Number of pages varies in the 10 published editions: 80 on the low end and 105 on the high, with most in the 90s. Modest discoloration to some covers but overall good clean condition. The first page of Number 10, titled "To Our Readers," begins as follows: "The New York Shakespeare Theatre is obliged to terminate publishing "Scripts" as of this issue."
