Leyendecker, J.C. (cover illus).
Philadelphia. Curtis Publishing Co., 02 - 05 - 1910.
Vintage magazine, black and white illustrations, 32 pages, 14 1/4 x 11 1/4 inches, paper wrappers as issued. Featuring fiction and current events, plus copious advertising. Cover art by Harrison Fisher—a young man embracing a young woman who sports a hat featuring a dead bird. An article on "Wall Street Men," "Succulent Dinners that Swim the Sea" (Salmon), playwright and actor "Dion Boucicault the Master of the Revels" by William Winter (known in the profession as Weeping Willie) and several pieces of fiction. A small advertisement of the Haynes Automobile is featured on p. 32, showing its evolution over 13 years. Also ads for bicycles and music rolls for player pianos, and much more. Magazine suffers from a damp ripple, lower right corner of front cover, extending through all 32 pp of the magazine—an unfortunate but not impossible flaw. Item #55079

Price: $25.00
