Syracuse, New York. Franklin Automobile Company. Circa 1929.
Repair manual for the Franklin ("Air-Cooled") Automobile, in business between 1906 and 1934. Manual begins with pages 3 to 14 followed by eccentrically numbered pages 101 to 2303 (massive gaps between page numbers) and 4 page index at rear. Each page is dated at the bottom, indicating progressive updating of the manual regarding proper repair procedures for a specific mechanical problem. Covers missing; a number of pages showing discoloration from the constant problem-solving consultation by mechanics. An interesting automotive collectible, especially if a circa late-20s Franklin is parked in your garage. Item #55021
