Folded road map of Washington state, 3 ¾ x 8 ¼ inches, unfolding to 18 ½ x 24 inches. Gravel roads dominate, with paved roads shown in the vicinity of Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma and Portland Oregon. Remarkably, vast areas of the map are totally devoid of roads. Numerous villages and small towns are identified on the map. Verso of map lists Goodrich Company's "Travel & Transport Bureau" locations throughout the country. Also featured on verso are small road maps of Seattle, Tacoma, and Spokane. The B.F. Goodrich Company was founded in 1869, relocating the following year from New York State to Akron, Ohio.
Their "Travel Bureau" was a useful extension of their primary endeavor, manufacturing automotive tires. A listing of their extensive "Travel Bureau" locations in the U.S. appears on one folded panel.
