Very large lithographic color pictorial bird's eye view of London, 21 x 41 1/2 inches on sheet 23 x 43 1/4 inches now archivally linen backed minimising minor fold splits and a tear at lower left now infilled. Despite these minor condition issues the map presents very well, clean and bright in appearance with wonderful detail. A beautifully composed and printed bird's eye view style image of London at the time of the Coronation of King George V, showing considerable detail in the span from Shepherd's Bush to Tower Bridge and Primrose Hill to the Oval. Red lines mark the Metropolitan - District Railway and blue lines the Electric Tube Railways. There are two WorldCat entries for this title with dates of 1908 (Exhibition Souvenir) and 1911 (Coronation Souvenir). The map here offered has a small title label at upper left corner "Coronation Souvenir" - WorldCat lists only two libraries in Ireland and Scotland as holding this map. An uncommon and most handsome map of London in the early years of the twentieth century. Item #54845
