Honolulu, Hawaii. Hawaii Tourist Bureau. 1939.
Brochure unfolding to large map of the City of Honolulu 13 ¾ x 24 ½ inches. The map is signed (in facsimile) by James B. Mann, Engineer and Surveyor, and dated January 1939. The map is in very good condition, save for issues noted as follows: in the lower right-hand corner of the map there appears a hand-written list of addresses in the city, numbered 1 through 7. These addresses are located on the map proper, using the appropriate numeral as reference. These are relatively modest infringements on the map overall, which basically is in very good clean condition. The motivation for the listing remains a mystery. Verso of map features "Points of Interest," "Street Index," etc. Significantly, the James B. Mann House (built 1954) in the Tantalus area of Honolulu is on a list of historic Honolulu homes.
