London. T. Tegg & Son. 1836.
Six fold-out engraved maps, xiv+800pp, 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches, leather covered boards. Covers are detached and in poor condition, front free endpaper is detached. The text block is clean and tight, very good condition. In general the maps are in very good condition with no tears; there is very light foxing or toning to the edges of most; the World map in the front of the volume has more considerable toning/light foxing. The maps are printed on a sturdy paper and the impressions are strong and clear. The volume is illustrated with six attractive, finely engraved folding maps: "The World," "Europe", "Asia", "Africa", "North America", and "South America." Maps are drawn by J. Assheton and engraved on steel by B. Baker. The text is a most detailed listing of the most up-to-date information. Item #54354
