Collection of five 18th and 19th century British dramas ("printed from the acting copy, etc.) to which is added Colman’s "The Iron Chest" dated 1796. Frontispieces to the first five dramas by either Wageman or Cruikshank. The five are The Grecian Daughter by Murphy; Orestes in Argos by Bayley; William Tell by Knowles; The Revenge by Young; The Gamester by Moore (first 10 pages never bound) plus The Iron Chest. Three-quarter leather binding; front cover detached; spine missing. Contents overall good condition, with occasional light time-toning. The most striking illustration are "Mr. C. Kemble as Orestes" and "Miss Fanny Kemble as Euphrasia," both by Wageman. Item #54291
