Liverpool, England (?): Canadian Pacific. 1926.
Three ephemeral items from the Canadian Pacific's 10th West Indies Cruise aboard the 20 year old S. S. Montroyal, March 1926. The largest item is a March 17 St. Patrick's Day Dinner Menu, 8 x 5 3/4, featuring Irish-themed servings: Emerald Isle Salad, O'Brien Potatoes, Cork Style Fillet of Sole, etc. The two additional items. both slightly smaller than the menu, include a dinner menu dated Sunday, March 28, and a breakfast menu (horizontal fold at center) dated March 11 (illustrated with a cartoon image of the "Wireless Office"). The three items are in very good clean condition (save for the fold). The liner, launched as the empress of Britain, made her maiden voyage (Liverpool-Quebec) in 1906. When not engaged as a cruise liner, the ship could accommodate 600 cabin-class and 800 third class passengers. It was scrapped at Stavanger, Norway in 1930. Price: $65.00 (three items). Item #54227
