A fold-out map of the city is located opposite the title page and a pictorial map of the route from Mexico City to Acapulco appears on verso of rear cover. Text records distance from Mexico City as being 284 miles, while flying time is an hour and 30 minutes. Of note: "Many members of the smart, cosmopolitan set…came to visit and remain to build…. Their pink and white villas cling to rocky cliffs jutting far out into the sea." Flowery language on every page: a "naturalist's paradise," a "land where flowers never die," "tropic warmth tempered by ocean breezes" and "little tropic fish colored like the fantastic jewels of a magician's dream..."
