Tales of the actor’s life as he plied his trade on the east coast and in California, Virginia City, Honolulu, and other locales. Label on verso of front cover identifies the volume as once belonging to The Emblem Club of Bend, Oregon. A letter from the author in an envelope attached to verso of the rear cover details Leman’s difficulties with getting the book published, the expense involved, the meager return, and his regrets, once the book was in print, of all he might have included in his recollections, which escaped him (despite 406 pp) at the time of the writing.
