New York. Biglow & Main Co., 1895.
Hymnal, 9 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches, 160 pp. Text on title page states: "contains a new selection of Sacred Songs, Duets, Anthems, Solos and Choruses; the latest productions of the authors, and now being used by the large Chorus Choirs in connection with Mr. Moody's evangelistic work." The three contributors to the volume are Ira D. Sankey, James McGranahan, and Geo. C. Stebbins. Index at rear. Former owner's name inscribed on front free end paper while rear cover shows water staining; however, apart from slight warp, volume's contents show minimal damage stemming from this issue. Pages clean and bright, binding tight, but condition overall must be judged less than good. In sum, an engaging collection of gospel music from the late 19th century; a useful addition to any collection with condition issues noted. Item #53889
