New York. Dell Publishing Co., Inc., 1958-1959.
Three film "fan" magazines featuring cover photos and articles about actress Elisabeth Taylor, two from 1958 and one from 1959. From 1958, the July issue of Modern Screen features "the most tender and tragic love story of our time..." (Taylor and husband # 3 Mike Todd). The October issue of Screen Stories features Taylor in Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (with Paul Newman). From 1959 the September issue of Screen Stories features an article in which "Mike Connolly tells the Real Reason Liz Changed Her Faith." Two of the magazines have small numerals on the front cover; otherwise, the three magazines are in very good clean condition. Summary: Numerous additional photo-illustrated articles feature film stars of the era as well as reviews of now-forgotten films; also ads for numerous beauty products ("Use Hide-it Duo Cream to Hide All Blemishes") and stay-at-home revenue schemes ("Make Money Addressing Envelopes"). The three would make an unusual gift for the nostalgia addicted. Item #53611
