"This is a new map of the Malay peninsula, where Japanese forces are pushing southward in an effort to take the British military base in Singapore." Published in the Chicago Daily Tribune on January 13 1942, just weeks before the British colony was taken by the Japanese forces on 15 February 1942. Item #53387
