Beautifully designed and hand colored image, plate #919, from Sydenham Edwards' "The Botanical Register", published by J. Ridgway. The text states: "The earliest information European Botanists received of this plant, was through a collection of Chinese drawings...The Chinese are said to call it Hoi-tong-hong." Item #53248
