Booklet 6 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches; 12 pp including covers, featuring 11 illustrations of home furnishings with an emphasis on bedrooms and lounges (living rooms). Seven illustrations are are photographic while four are artist renderings of interiors. Cover of booklet states "A series of exclusive furnishing schemes especially designed for the 1936 Ideal Homes Exhibition." Text within the booklet states "Whiteleys have a Special Department devoted to the furnishing of Hotels, Blocks of Flats, etc." and also "Whiteleys Auction Rooms can dispose of your Old Furniture on request. Auctions every Thursday." Light spotting to rear cover; overall, bright and clean. Very good condition. The famous department store, dating from the mid 19th century, moved into a luxurious new Queensway building in 1911. The department store closed in 1981 and the building languished for a number of years. It eventually was purchased, its interior repurposed at great expense, and it emerged in its present form--a multi-purpose shopping center. No WorldCat listing. Item #53120
