Black and white folded map in card covers 7 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches, unfolding to 17 1/4 x 19 inches. Advertising for local businesses in the wide margins of the map, distributed "with the compliments" by Hart & Bray Auctioneers." Map identifies bus routes, tram routes, various sites, adjacent areas, etc. Located on the map are sites of interest with regard to Exeter as it existed mid-twentieth century, for example: Devon Art Pottery works, Lion's Holt (RR) Station (changed to St. James Park in 1946), the Brick Works at Newton, Wonford House Lunatic Asylum, Exwick Mills, the University of SW England, etc. Map is in very good (virtually unused) condition, with 1/8 inch wide toning line along rear cover's spine edge. An intriguing map for those interested in pre-WWII Exeter. Item #52537
