London. Religious Tract Society. 1885.
Two illustrated essays, printed in installments, evidently in the "Sunday at Home" magazine of 1885. "The Jews in Central Asia" by Henry Lansdell is in two parts (seven plus pages total) and "The Jews After the Dispersion" is in twenty parts (approximately 42 pages total). Both pieces, disbound from the magazine, are illustrated with wood engravings. Lansdell (1841-1919) undertook extensive travels in Europe and Central Asia distributing Christian religious tracts etc. in the languages of the countries visited. He produced three books on his travels, including Chinese Central Asia (1893). Henry Cadwallader Adams (1817-1899) was an author of religious texts and books for children. As stated, the installments are disbound, but complete and in good legible condition. Item #52413
