TWO ISSUES OF the magazine September and October 1892 with Supplements staple-bound together, 10 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches, pp114-140. Wear, some paper loss in margins, tears to front and back cover, chipping and creasing to last page, otherwise good condition. This September issue of the missionary magazine contains an article on the progress of missionary work in the Six Northern Provinces of China: Kan-suh, Shen-si, Shan-si, Shan-tung and Ho-Nan. There are small black and white illustrations of the "C.I.M House at Nan-K'ang Fu" and the "C.I.M. Station at Gan-ren, Kiang-si." Other articles include: "A Visit to the Stations on the Kwang-sin River, Kiang-si" by Archibald Orr Ewing. The September-October "North American Supplement" features many letters from missionaries in China detailing their experiences; the featured one relates to the Famine in Shan-si. The October issue features reports on work in the Central Provinces: Si-ch'uen, with small but remarkably detailed in-text maps of the Kia-ting Fu District and the Prefecture of Sui-fu; Hu-peh; Gan-hwuy.
