New York. The Order of Harmony. 1928.
Second Edition. Hardcover book, 7 x 4 1/2 inches, 158 pp. Minor toning to endpapers. Contents in good clean condition. Author proclaims on page preceding Contents that "the discovery of the Grape Cure is the direct result of Divine Illumination"; in the Foreword she discusses the World Harmony Movement (several pencil "x" marks in margin indicating noteworthy tidbits). At end of book are several pages of "Grapelets," epigrammatic toots relating to the Grape Cure, as for example: "Medical doctors know a great deal about disease. What a pity they know so little about health!" Last 16 pp. of volume focus on the Order of Harmony, founded in Pretoria, Transvaal, in 1916 before taking hold in England and the United States. Various Harmony publications are listed, as are ads for Naturopathic "resorts" in Butler, New Jersey and Tangerine, Florida and assorted publications ("Youth Prolonged," etc.). An interesting publication that has been reprinted numerous times since its debut in 1928. Very good clean condition. Item #52044
