Washington, D.C. Pennsylvania-Central Airlines. No date. Ca. 1941.
Folded color map 9 x 4 inches unfolding to 18 x 24 inches. Unfolded map features a color (blue tones with orange route lines) pictorial map 18 x 20 inches depicting the airline's complete network; nine smaller maps on verso display the shorter links that comprise the full system. These smaller maps have pictorial components (image of auto plant near Flint, capitol building near Harrisburg, etc.) Map in excellent condition. The front cover of the folded map states: "In the 14th year of operating experience serving the capitals of industry." Scheduled passenger service for the company that became, in 1936, Pennsylvania Central Airlines, began in 1928, thus a possible date for the brochure is 1941. A photo of a "Gulf Oil Products" truck pictured in the brochure supports the 1941 dating. An uncommon piece of airline ephemera in excellent condition. Item #51586
