Chicago. Hartmann-Sanders Company. Copyright 1924.
Two-color and black and white photo illustrated catalog, 63pp, 10 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches, paper wrappers (softbound). Neatly printed ink notation to front cover, light edge wear; interior very good with magazine clipping taped to inner edge of one page. Four page net price list dated April 15, 1924 attached to top of title page. Slight musty odor, overall good clean condition. Photographs relating to Pergolas and Garden Houses comprise the first 22 pages of the booklet, together with text providing dimensions of the various structures. Lattice fencing, colonial fences, columns for pergolas, and interior lattice treatments are offered in the next dozen pages, followed by 20 pages devoted to garden furniture, gates and arbors, garden accessories (bird baths, fountains, planters, benches "in natural granite or cain stone shades." The final pages are devoted to garden umbrellas, hammocks, folding chairs, sundials, and "gazing globes"--i.e. a mirrored ball mounted on a pedestal, ideally positioned "to crown a knoll commanding the expanse of your estate." For those seeking a 275 pound birdbath, rather than a "gazing globe," this catalogue is a must. Item #51386
