1950s booster publications for three California cities: Chico, Auburn, and Anaheim. Publications are well-illustrated and feature much local advertising. The publications provide a snap-shot of three California cities whose civic leaders seek to portray progressive, business-oriented communities offering substantial recreational and educational opportunities to the citizenry. 1.) Auburn Area, California. Spiral bound, unpaginated soft-cover booklet, 8.5 x 11 inches. Focus on recreation, commerce, history, public services. Much regional advertising. Loose folded street map of Auburn. Circa 1958. Very good condition. 2.) Chico, California. Spiral bound soft-cover booklet, 56 pp., 8.5 x 11 inches. Focus on recreation, commerce, history, public services. Much regional advertising, with focus on Diamond Match Company. Circa 1957. Soft vertical fold, otherwise very good condition. 3.) Anaheim Progress and two inserts. Four page newspaper-format publication, 17.5 x 11 inches. Front page headline reads: "New Homes, Schools, Playgrounds Greet 1956 Anaheim Newcomers." Two eight-page inserts 8.5 x 11 inches: "Anaheim Dynamic City of Progress" features a centerfold map of Greater Anaheim with Disneyland pictorially represented. Focus on history, education, public services. Text states Disneyland "will spread the fame of Anaheim to all corners of the earth." Also, a profusely illustrated Visitors and Convention Bureau publication featuring photographic illustrations of the city and panoramic bird's-eye views. Not to be over-looked in the Convention Bureau publication: the Disneyland Hotel and Park. Very good condition. Item #50750
