Boston. Rust Craft. No date. Ca. 1917.
Miniature booklet in stiff card covers, 4.5 x 3 inches. Very light soiling to front and rear covers. Cover depicts a female motorist; each interior page lists eight topics for individual entries by the motorist regarding travel: "Date; Miles; Started from; Hour; Arrived at; Hour; Party; Notes." Very limited space for entries. There are two entries in the booklet, each dated 1917. The first records travel from Pasadena to Riverside and return; 106 miles and more than six and a half hours travel time in each direction. The second records travel from Pasadena to Long Beach; 73 miles and more than six and a half hours travel time in each direction. No further entries; perhaps the diarist abandoned motoring--certainly she gave up writing about it. Painful verse from publisher on front cover as follows: "Jot down the time and weather, The party and the miles, And may they, all together, Prove food for future smiles!" Booklet in good condition but really, from the get-go, of no earthly use. Item #50730
