Booklet in stiff card wraps, 8.5 x 6 inches, 97 pp. with colorful 16 x 12 inch folding pictorial map at rear. Well illustrated with photographs. Topics covered include an historical sketch and discussions of major cities and the attractions they offer for the tourist. In the Preface the reader is introduced to the richness of Libya as a tourist destination: "In the field of tourism, Libya enjoys a wealth of tourist potentialities envied by countries well known for their tourist attractions. It possesses a rare historic wealth as well as unique monuments and antiquities dating from African, Greek, Roman and Moslem times…." The Preface further informs potential tourists: "they will undoubtedly be received as guests of honor to whom every hospitality will be extended." The booklet provides a most interesting portrait of the country as it existed prior to the 1969 overthrow of King Idris and the establishment of the Libyan Arab Republic under the leadership of Muammar Gaddafi.
