Well-illustrated 44 pp booklet, 9 x 6 inches with stiff card covers, detailing (according to the booklet's full title) "The conveyance of water in open channels for irrigation, hydro-electric power, mining and domestic supply. Including data on canals, ditches, flumes and weirs." Small color image on cover pictures various types of water management infrastructure. Covers loose, very light soiling to rear cover; name in ink and date ("Sept. 1922") in top margin of front cover. Overall very good condition. The booklet chiefly focuses on various types of flumes manufactured by California Corrugated Culvert Co. and includes photographs, construction blueprint illustrations, as well as tables and formulas relating to the safe and efficient movement of water. Overall, a most interesting booklet detailing mechanisms for conveying water for irrigation as this technology existed in the early 20th century--a matter of vital importance to water-challenged regions of California and the Pacific Northwest; very good condition.
