Chicago. Clyde W. Riley Advertising System. 1915.
24 pp theatre program, 6.75 x 5.25 inches, with lithographic paper wraps and interior advertising in color. Light vertical fold. Very good condition. The program identifies the production as "The Great Star Aggregation" prior to listing the cast members: "Wm. H. Crane, Thos. W. Ross, Maclyn Arbuckle, Amelia Bingham and Mabel Taliaferro." The play is an updating of Bronson Howard's comic drama, first produced in1887, which focuses on the perfidy and greed associated with Wall Street speculators. Copious advertising includes various products pictured in color lithography; these include Murad Cigarettes, Libby's Olives, Congress Hotel's "After Theatre Supper," Djer-Kiss, Peacock Pearl Strings, and a handsome centerfold for Brunswick Pocket Billiards ('Teaching 'Young America' to Shoot!") The Djer-Kiss ad notes of the French-produced product: "There will probably be a scarcity of Djer-Kiss owing to the war in Europe." A most attractive program in very good condition. Item #48752
