Complete August 7, 1875 issue of The Graphic, 24 pp., 15 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches). A disbound issue, with abraded spine. Very light occasional toning; overall good condition. Of the numerous items in the newspaper, two of the most interesting are the full-page illustration "Clowns at Cricket," accompanied by a paragraph commenting on the novel idea of "pitting a team of 'fools' against gentlemen players...during the summer months...; the matches have now become quite an institution." The other item of interest is a full-page portrait of Daniel O'Connell "printed on plate paper. Featured elsewhere in the newspaper is a biography of the Irish politician, who campaigned relentlessly for Roman Catholic emancipation--the right for Catholics to set in the Westminster Parliament.
