Seattle. Rev. William Park. 1915.
104 pp booklet in paper wraps, 7.5 x 5 inches. What appears a light damp stain (1/2 inch at highest point) runs across the bottom of front cover and first 22 pages, some light foxing. Modest paper loss top of spine. Tiny dog-ear folds free end of several rear pages. Good condition overall, with issues noted. In the Preface to the volume the author lays out his evangelical mission: "Our plan of procedure will be, first, to quote from Mrs. Eddy's writings what she says on the subject under discussion, and second, to show from the Word of God how utterly opposed she is to the real teaching of the Bible." Twenty-plus chapters on various topics such as "Satan," "Angels," "Miracles," "Sin," etc. The volume concludes with two short chapters: "What Mrs. Eddy Claims" ("the Bible is full of error" etc.) and What Mrs. Eddy Denies ("the existence of Heaven as a place" etc.) Those desirous of a copy of the slim volume are instructed to write to Reverend Park and to "send cash" with their order (single copy 15¢ -- 100 copies $11.00) Overall, an interesting volume for those interested in the furor aroused by what Evangelist Park refers to as the "Boston cult."
